Draft for the Friends board to review and approve.

Our Goal

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. These are the international guidelines for making websites work well for people with disabilities.

What We've Done

  • Every page works with a keyboard alone, with a clear outline showing where you are.
  • Pages use proper headings, labels and descriptions, so screen readers can make sense of them.
  • Photos have text descriptions.
  • Text and buttons have strong color contrast, and color is never the only way information is shown.
  • Pages still work when text is enlarged or the page is zoomed to 400%.
  • If your device is set to reduce motion, animations are turned off.

How We Check

We test every page with automated accessibility tools at phone, tablet and desktop sizes, and by using each page with a keyboard. This page was last reviewed in October 2026.

Known Limitations

  • Newsletters open as files in Google Drive and may not work well with every screen reader. If you need a newsletter in another format, email us.
  • Videos are shown from YouTube. Captions depend on YouTube and may be created automatically.
  • Our bylaws are a PDF file that may not work well with every screen reader.
  • Membership and donations are handled by Donorbox on its own website.
